JOB DETAILS

Job Type: Full-time (year-round work)

Hourly: $16.50-$23.00 (based on experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (some after hours or weekends may be required-overtime pay)

OBJECTIVES:

    • Advance construction projects by building and installing key functional elements.
    • Keep work areas and equipment clean and secure.
    • Maintain good relationships with clients and third parties.
    • Ensure compliance with safety protocols on-site and in the workshop.
    • Collaborate with a skilled team of fellow craftsmen.
    • Demonstrate excellence of craft to drive further business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Frame walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
    • Fit and install window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter’s level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
    • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
    • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
    • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
    • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
    • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
    • Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
    • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repairs or replaces, using hand tools.
    • Inspect ceiling or floor tiles, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
    • Move materials around on jobsites as necessary.
    • Debris removal from jobsites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

OSHA certified ideal but not required

    • 3+ years’ experience in residential and commercial carpentry.
    • Owns a variety of hand and power tools (see tool list below).
    • Ability to follow architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Strong verbal communication skills.
    • Good math and spatial reasoning skills.
    • Knowledge of carpentry best practices and techniques.
    • Strong working knowledge of job site safety regulations.
    • Ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
    • Alert and attentive to detail to ensure job site safety.
    • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Capacity to multitask without sacrificing quality or safety.
